This sculpture is made from repurposed and assembled industrial machine parts. Together, they create the physical conditions needed to transform large quantities of sugar and disperse it into the surrounding space. Through a series of technical couplings, the machines generate rising clouds of cotton candy.
The machinery is transformed into a sculptural and poetic system. The work engages the senses through its smell, appearance, and taste. Sugar filaments become a material capable of shaping the air itself. As they spread, they make otherwise invisible forces visible and gradually occupy the surrounding space. Tentacle-like in its growth, the work continuously unfolds, its shape changing from moment to moment through the uninterrupted production of delicate white strands of spun sugar.
From these machines, vibrating together in a kind of symbiosis, emerge weightless threads that seem almost free of gravity. Carried by the constant movement of air within the installation, they drift upward and outward, forming vast suspended webs.
Cette sculpture composée de différentes pièces de machines industrielles détourné et assemblé produit les conditions physiques adéquates à la transformation d’une grande quantité de sucre et à son évaporation dans l’espace. Les couplages techniques créent des nuages de barbe à papa ascensionnels. Les machines se transforment dans des volutes sculpturales et poétiques. L'œuvre contient à la fois des caractéristiques olfactives, visuelles et gustatives. Les filaments de sucre deviennent un matériau capable de sculpter l’air. Il rend visible des forces et s’accapare en se propageant l’espace environnant. L'œuvre tentaculaire se déploie et transforme à chaque seconde ses contours par sa production ininterrompue des filins blancs de sucre sculpté.
De ces machines qui vibrent toutes en symbiose, sortent de leurs bouches un filin semblant ne peser aucun poids, emporté par le brassage continue de l’air au milieu de l’installation, s’envolant pour former d’immenses toiles en suspension.
